Smart by Nature: Schooling for Sustainability
By Michael K Stone; Center for Ecoliteracy
University of California Press, $24.95, 191 pages
The framework of this book is focused around profiles of schools that are putting green, sustainable goals into practice. Each chapter focuses on a specific environmental concept, and an institution that is making efforts to better that particular concept, program or practice. This is a textbook-based study of sustainability and academia, and will likely find the most use within college classrooms or by independent-study users, but those who are simply curious as to teaching sustainability or greening out educational institutions will also find this a valuable work.
